Who is responsible
Maticbook is operated by Mosematic Technologies, a business name registered in Uganda (G260930-3343), owned by Mubangizi Moses (Ugandan), who is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@mosematic.com, P.O. Box 100048, Kampala, Uganda.
Without an account, nothing leaves your device
Maticbook works offline. Everything you write — recipes, notes, prep lists, templates, the roster and day plans, timers — is stored in your browser or the Android app on your device. We receive none of it. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling deletes it, so use Settings → Export to keep a backup.
If you create an account
An account is optional and exists only to sync your notebook across your devices.
- What we hold: your email address and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), the date and version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted, and the synced content: recipes, notes, templates, people, shift types, roster entries, schedule items and day plans. Timers and some local settings never sync.
- People on your roster: if you add colleagues' names and stations to the roster, those names are synced too. Add only what you need to run the shift.
- Where it is stored: Supabase, our database and authentication provider. The app itself is hosted on Vercel.
Reading a recipe from a photo
When you are signed in and choose to read a recipe from a photo, the photo is sent through our server to Groq, an AI provider, which returns the text of the recipe. We do not store the photo. Groq processes it under its own terms. The result is an estimate: check every quantity and allergen before you rely on it.
Voice dictation
The microphone button uses your browser's or phone's built-in speech recognition. On Chrome and Android that audio is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy. It is not sent to us.
No tracking
Maticbook has no ads, no analytics and no third-party trackers. The app's security policy only allows it to connect to its own site and to Supabase. Your sign-in session is kept in the app's local storage, not in advertising cookies.
Keeping and deleting your data
Items you delete in the app are marked as deleted in the synced copy, so they stop appearing on your other devices; the row itself stays in your account until the account is deleted. To delete your account and everything synced to it, email hello@mosematic.com from the account's address; we delete it and confirm. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
Age
Maticbook is a tool for working kitchens and is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the date above. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using Maticbook and ask us to delete your account.
